Vogue 7910 in Metallic Fake Leather

Beautiful fake leather from Emma One Sock. I especially love the brightness white gold. The blonde one is more of a burnished bronze.

Style Arc Valentina Dress

This is my first Valentina dress. I made it up in silk chiffon from Mood fabrics. I used some techniques I found online to work with the chiffon, like cutting the pattern pieces on one layer of fabric. I also increased the seam allowance of the pattern to make it easier to do french seams. I haven't made the matching silk slip yet so I've been wearing a slip from my closet.

My next Valentina will be in this silk from Mood

Lander pants by True Bias.
Button up front. Stretch denim. Straight wide leg all the way down.
Love them so much I had to gift them.

Wee Bean Baby Sweater

Wee Bean baby sweater by Taiga Hilliard Designs.
Buttons and yarn from Brooklyn General.
A very fast project, but getting around to sewing on the buttons took forever!

Black and white eyelet for the summer!

I was inspired by some eyelet fabric I found at Mood and thought about remaking favorite patterns incorporating panels of the eyelet. The shirt is a cropped shirt dress that I've made before (Simplicity Lisette 2246)  and the skirts are Vogue V7910 version B (both out of print!). For the denim skirt I used a Mood denim but chose the reverse side. It has a great sheen to it and works well with the white eyelet. My daughter's shorts are made completely out of the fabric and she wore them as a beach coverup.

Perfect summer shorts!

Simple and quick shorts from Burdastyle. Model 114 from Magazine 3/2012.Fabric is inexpensive black cotton from Brooklyn General and the trim is from the Pacific Trimmings. I love these shorts- they are high waisted, loose and not too short- and I will power through some pairs in different fabrics next spring. I also love the way the front piece laps over the back.

So I subscribed to Seamwork Magazine for $6 per month which includes the magazine and 2 free patterns. So far I've made the Dakota swim bottoms. I wore the high waisted style bottoms on vacation this summer and they fit really well in and out of the water. I made 2 pairs using different style polka dot fabrics from The Fabric Fairy www.thefabricfairy.com where they have a great selection of swimsuit fabrics. I ran out of time to make a top so I just bought a solid black underwire style from H&M.
