Black and white eyelet for the summer!

I was inspired by some eyelet fabric I found at Mood and thought about remaking favorite patterns incorporating panels of the eyelet. The shirt is a cropped shirt dress that I've made before (Simplicity Lisette 2246)  and the skirts are Vogue V7910 version B (both out of print!). For the denim skirt I used a Mood denim but chose the reverse side. It has a great sheen to it and works well with the white eyelet. My daughter's shorts are made completely out of the fabric and she wore them as a beach coverup.

Perfect summer shorts!

Simple and quick shorts from Burdastyle. Model 114 from Magazine 3/2012.Fabric is inexpensive black cotton from Brooklyn General and the trim is from the Pacific Trimmings. I love these shorts- they are high waisted, loose and not too short- and I will power through some pairs in different fabrics next spring. I also love the way the front piece laps over the back.

So I subscribed to Seamwork Magazine for $6 per month which includes the magazine and 2 free patterns. So far I've made the Dakota swim bottoms. I wore the high waisted style bottoms on vacation this summer and they fit really well in and out of the water. I made 2 pairs using different style polka dot fabrics from The Fabric Fairy www.thefabricfairy.com where they have a great selection of swimsuit fabrics. I ran out of time to make a top so I just bought a solid black underwire style from H&M.
